Oregon State Lands ANOTHER Four Star Recruit

Craig Robinson has done it again.  Oregon State has received a verbal commitment from 4-Star recruit, point guard Jared Cunningham out of San Leandro, CA.

Coming on the heels of their big home victory against USC, head basketball coach Craig Robinson received more good news today on the recruiting front. Jared Cunningham, a 4-star, Rivals150 point guard from San Leandro (Calif.) San Leandro verbally committed to the Beavers this afternoon.

“I committed to Oregon State earlier today,” said Cunningham. “It is a great fit for me and I’m excited to play for Coach Robinson who is both a great mentor and coach.”

Cunningham had commited to Arizona State but the two “parted ways due to academic concerns.”  Don’t like the academic concerns but OSU fans have to LOVE another stud addition to their blooming ‘09 recruiting class.  Rivals ranks Cunningham as the number 70 recruit in the country and the number 13 point guard.  Oregon State’s 2009 recruiting class now includes two 4-star recruits (Roberto Nelson and now, Cunningham) and a 3-star recruit (Joe Burton).  Oregon State still leads for SF recruit Terrence Boyd, ranked number 50 in the nation overall and the number 9 small forward by Rivals.  Boyd will be taking some official visits this spring to UConn, Oklahoma, Pitt, Kentucky, and OSU.

Oregon State’s 2009 freshmen could look like this (as of today):

PG: Cunningham (70 overall/13 position)

SG:  Nelson (72/17)

SF:  Boyd (50/9)

C:  Burton (120/17)

Impressive.
