Bye Week Fodder
Oregon State has a bye week this week. The guy above told me so personally on Saturday night. Not a big deal.
- Three Star defensive end Andrew Hudson has narrowed his choices down to three: Oregon State, Washington, and Arizona. Hudson on OSU: I really like the fact that they aren’t too concerned that I am not 270 pounds. I mean I will bulk up, but they like to have fast speed rushers off the edge and I see myself in that type of role in the future. The philosophy that they use on defense is one that I can vibe with and I like how they get after the quarterback. I think pass rushing is definitely my biggest strength right now.
- Devon Collier has basketball offers from Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, St. Johns, Syracuse, West Virginia, and Oregon State. OSU coach Craig Robinson didn’t think Collier (out of Jersey City, NJ) would be interested in the Beavers: Coach Robinson didn’t think that I’d be interested in Oregon State,” Collier said. “But after hearing from my coach that the Beavers were interested, I wanted to learn more. [skip] Right now Oregon State is on top,” Collier said. “It was a nice campus and a good experience. Coach Robinson has a great sense of humor and is a really good person. This week I’m visiting Providence, next week Seton Hall, and St. Johns later in the month. As far as Oregon State being on the West Coast, my family has said that they would support me in whatever I feel is right for me.
- Robinson has the Beaver basketball team thinking about the NCAA Tournament. Just a reminder, OSU went 0-18 in Pac-10 play a short two seasons ago.
- Oregon State lost freshman WR Micah Hatfield to a broken leg in practice yesterday. Mike Riley is bummed but hopes to have Hatfield back by spring ball. OSU takes on USC in Los Angeles next Saturday.
- Finally, on advise of a former bartender (seriously), I am cutting back on the swearing. No more acting like a kid with Tourette’s
